Chamada: Meetings on Ethics and Political Philosophy (Minho)

Está aberta a chamada para o VI Meetings on Ethics and Political Philosophy organizado pelo Grupo de Teoria Política da Universidade do Minho (Portugal). O evento é uma excelente oportunidade para aqueles que querem dar os primeiros passos na participação de eventos internacionais na área (além de estar localizado na belíssima cidade de Braga!). O encontro ocorre entre os dias 8 e 9 de junho de 2015 e o deadline para o envio de propostas é 31 de janeiro. Os palestrantes convidados serão Simon Caney (Oxford) e Samuel Scheffler (NYU).

After five successful meetings on previous years, we now welcome paper proposals for the fifth Meetings on Ethics and Political Philosophywhich will be held at University of Minho, Braga (Portugal), on June, 8-9 2015.

The Meetings provide an excellent opportunity to present both advanced and exploratory work in front of an open and welcoming audience. 

This year, we have two keynote speakers:


Prof. Samuel Scheffler (NYU) will offer a lecture entitled “Why Worry about Future Generations?”


Prof. Simon Caney (Oxford) will offer a lecture on Global Injustice and the Rights of Necessity and Resistance.”


Abstracts:

We will have a special section on cosmopolitan challenges with some prospects of publishing a selection of papers as a special issue in an academic journal in the field. If you are interested in presenting a paper in this section, please write “cosmopolitanism” before the title.

If you are interested in presenting a paper on a topic of your choice for other panels, please write “general” before the title.

For all abstracts:  send your contact and affiliation, an abstract (300 to 500 words) and 5 key words, by January 31st to João Cardoso Rosas (rosas(at)ilch.uminho.pt) and David Alvarez (alvarez (at) ilch.uminho.pt). Abstracts will be submitted to peer-review.


Deadline for submissions: 31st January 2015.

Deadline for notification of acceptance: 28th February 2015.
